Owner's Description

Our lakeside lodges are wonderfully set in 180 acres of organic farmland with an abundance of wildlife. Perfect for a relaxing romantic break, complete with hot tubs and nestling amidst rolling hills, lakes and mature woodland, this scenic retreat will suit couples, nature lovers and families in search of serenity, giving you a genuine sense of seclusion, yet offering an idyllic base to explore one of the most popular holiday regions in the UK.
Much of the Heart of Devon's countryside is designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with Dartmoor, Exmoor and the Black Down Hills on your doorstep. The fertile valleys and woodlands found in Mid Devon teem with wildlife and are punctuated by farmland and traditional narrow, high banked Devon lanes, flower laden in springtime, there are few places better to get close to nature and enjoy the tranquility of rural life.

Over recent years the increase availability of quality Devon food and drink produced locally means that the area is fast becoming as famous for its award-winning restaurants, food festivals, vineyards and country pubs, as it is for its stunning coasts and countryside, this is a region of wonderful flavours just waiting to be savoured and Upton Lakes is at the very heart of it!

Upton Lakes Lodges are just a short walk from the River Culm and the National Trust site of Killerton is within 5 miles. The cathedral city of Exeter, the historic town of Honiton, Dartmoor and Exmoor are also only a short drive away. The village of Cullompton, just 1 mile away from this haven, provides excellent places to eat and drink with local country pubs and a variety of activities such as tennis, squash, badminton and golf.

Exciting new exclusive 10 lodge development!

Upton Lakes are currently offering prospective buyers the opportunity to purchase their own luxury lodge within their new exclusive 10 lodge development.

We offer 50 weeks use per year on a 50 year license. A fully managed letting scheme is also available to prospective buyers, allowing you to relax in the knowledge that your home is in safe hands when you are not using it, potentially earning additional income if required.

Upton Lakes in partnership with Wessex Homes have created a stunning new lodge, exclusive to Upton Lakes called the Escape purposely designed for this development. The innovative design creates a real sense of open plan, luxury living. When designing The Escape, We wanted to step away from traditional lodges which are built and sited longitudinally, and create a lodge that enables those enjoying the living space to take full advantage of the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and lake from every room. By simply rotating the Escape 90 degrees and introducing extensive glazing to the full length of the lodge, we think we have achieved something quite unique”. Sensitively clad in cedar, the Escape blends effortlessly into its’ surroundings creating a sanctuary where you can completely unwind and escape the pressures of everyday life.
